چکیده

In the present work the effect of compressive stress on self-diffusion of Fe in nanocrystalline FeN(Zr) alloys has been investigated. Two different types of Fe64N26Zr10 samples, one without applied stress and another with applied compressive stress of 42 GPa, were deposited under identical conditions using magnetron sputtering. The stress has been applied to the sample by bending the substrate during the deposition using a three point bending device. The self-diffusivities of Fe were determined by measuring the broadening of Fe marker layers by Secondary Ion Mass Spectrometry after annealing at 443 K, 483 K and 523 K for 1 hour. The activation energy and preexponential factor for Fe diffusion is comparatively higher in the stressed sample. The higher activation energy might be due to the fact that the system transforms into a more dense state when compressive stress is applied.

Effect of dopants on thermal stability and self-diffusion in iron-nitride thin films

We studied the effect of dopants (Al, Ti, Zr) on the thermal stability of iron-nitride thin films prepared using a dc magnetron sputtering technique. Structure and magnetic characterization of deposited samples reveal that the thermal stability together with soft magnetic properties of iron-nitride thin films get significantly improved with doping. To understand the observed results, detailed F...

The Effect of Sputtering Parameters and Doping of Copper on Surface Free Energy and Magnetic Properties of Iron and Iron Nitride Nano Thin Films on Polymer Substrate

The objective of this study was to deposit thin films on PET polymer substrate and examine the functional properties systematically. Their properties have been studied as a function of the N₂-Ar flow rates, deposition time span and Cu doping. Iron nitride film deposited on both sides exhibits ferromagnetic phases, γ'-Fe₄N and ε-Fe₃N co-existed, shows negligible magnetic anisotropy. Other sample...

Effect of Fe additive on plastic deformation for crush-boxes with closed-cell metal foams, Part I: Al-composite foam compression response

AbstractIn this paper, we investigate effect of Fe–intermetallic compounds on plastic deformation of closed-cell composite Aluminum Foam as filler of thin-walled tubes. However, deformation of the Aluminum foam-filled thin-walled tubes as crushed-box will be presented in Part (II). Composite foams of AlSi7SiC3 and AlSi7SiC3-(Fe) as closed cell were synthesized by powder metallurgy foaming metho...
